For a structure with a span of 4-30m, using a steel-concrete composite structure significantly improves its bearing capacity. It can solve the problem of insufficient bending stiffness and poor stability of single panel structures. The structure is safer and more stable under the action of high fill.
The project below is a corrugated steel structure for gas pipe protection. Its span is 14.3m, rise is 3.8m, on the top, it has space for storm drainage pipe. This is also a big span low rise arch, normal corrugated steel structure will meet t he low strength problem. How to meet the strength request, we design a steel-concrete composite structure. It use big corrugated steel plate for the arch shell, then we make steel bars ring on the out side of the arch, the small corrugated steel plate cover on the steel bar cage. Inject concrete in the bars cages. Then create a big strength rings outside of the arch. After calculation and test, it meets the strength request.
