Lots of irrigation projection adopts the corrugated metal culvert, sure most of them are not round shape, most of them are half circle and trapezoid shape, they are only for water delivery for farming, so normally they are not big size and they are open structure. Also some adopt closed structure design, just what shape and structure will be adopt is designed as per the situation.

Most of irrigation projection, the water flow direction is from higher place to lower level, so no need pressure inside of the pipe. Then it does not have a high request on sealing. Sure, if open structure, it has to without any pressure.

But some projection or some section of the projection, the water need to be delivery from low level to high level, then it is a inverted rainbow, it need pressure to push the water go to the high place from the low place. Then it have to be with pressure inside of the pipe. In the case, we use the helical corrugated steel pipe, it has a good performance on sealing, then it is no problem to be a inverted rainbow.

Most projection, if the diameter is smaller than 1.8m, we suggest the nestable corrugated metal culvert pipe to be the channel. Because this metal culvert each plate is in half circle shape, then only seam for bolts on circumferential direction, so fewer seam and little leak. Also this culvert corrugation is small size, it can reduce the roughness for water delivery. And it is easy to install, just dig the channel on the ground, then put the corrugated steel channel into the channel on ground, and on the end of each plates, we can fix the plates on the ground by anchor bolts. The anchor bolts normally in length 2m, then it can fix the culvert steady.

Sure if the span of the channel is bigger than 1.8m, we also can design it by nestable corrugated metal culvert, just we need to add a beam which is made by angle steel or H steel, we fix it on the two side of the culvert, then it will be strong enough.
