We have to find a solution that make the corrugated steel elbow in multi plate type. The elbow is with an degree, it is difference to the straight corrugated metal pipe, we have to consider, how to connect the multi plate, and we find that the flange is a good choice to be the solution.
Firstly, our engineer will make a detailed design for the corrugated metal elbow, how many pieces of corrugated steel plate it needs, the shape, size of each corrugated steel plate.
Then We produce same diameter straight corrugated metal pipe, our people will assemble the metal pipe to be a round culvert pipe and we cut the round corrugated metal pipe as per our engineer design to make the angle as same as our request elbow, Then we disassemble all sections of the corrugated metal pipe which had been cut by us, finally welding flange on the edge of the cutting corrugated steel plate.
After all process finishing, our workers will try to assemble the elbow again, then if no problem, my engineer will according to the real produced elbow to amend his drawing, after that, the elbow design is finished.
Why we have to consider corrugated steel elbow on highway construction projection
Some people think the culvert is straight, and culvert is intersection with the highway direction, why we need an elbow for the culvert. In fact, on the big projection of highway, we can meet the problem that the mountain or trench is stopped culvert direction. If we filling the trench or excavate the mountain, it will spend big cost and time but an elbow can be a best solution for this problem. Elbows can allow corrugated pipes to bypass obstacles, and save construction term and cost.
